Sea Creature

I float around aimlessly,
like balloons full of helium.
i zig and i zag
bobbing,
unnoticed by predators watchful eyes.

Dancing near the ocean floor
i spread my tentacles,
they illuminate me.

Am i gushy or hard,
slimy or smooth?
Am i iridescent or dull,
large or small?

Some may look at me and flee,
other will be mesmerized by me.
I am a whimsical creature
roaming the ocean,
making it a brighter place to live.

I am
a jelly fish!

In Memory of Claes Oldenburg

Tall. Dark.
Red brick buildings,
towering over the others.
Wide spacious rooms
dominate the higher floors.
Within the building
on the main floor,
hidden near the corner of the building.
Three small rooms are a reminder
of what once was an artist’s playground.
They wait there.
Alone
in the dark.
The only light appears through the barred windows.
All is quiet.
Vehicles pass and go,
people continue on with their lives.
All oblivious to the sound of the three small rooms
creaking and moaning.
They mourn the loss of their dear friend.
What will become of this place?
Will there ever be any life in it again?
Will anyone remember the joy and delight,
that used to fill the halls?
I am filled with grief and sorrow.
Nothing can turn my gloom into bliss.
It is torture to see these rooms unoccupied.
All is bitter.
Tall, dark and unseen.
Tall, dark and unseen.
Tall, dark and unseen.

For the end of the yaer project in my english class, we got to choose anything/anyone to do a research project on. we had to create seven different peices of writing, and all together there had to be 1500 words. I choose Claes Oldenburg, thouse of you who dont know who that is, he was an artist who created larger than life art works. my teacher gave us an assignment that we had to do ontop of the project, it was a six rooms poem. A six rooms poem is reasly just an outline for writing a poem. In each of the sections of the peom it tells you to write about what the room looks like on the outside, or what sounds you hear, whats the lighting like in the room, whats the mood, etc. Then you just put the stuff you wrote into a poem format.

Ephesians 2:10

For we are God's Workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus to do good works,
which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Ephesians 2:10

This was one of my favorite art works to create, and in fact it was my moms idea of what to do with it. Me and my mom where working at our local thrift store when she walked up to me with a huge grin on her face. It looked like she would have found gold, except when she pulled this plain looking tray out from behind her back i looked sceptical. At first i thought using it for art was a crazy idea, i had no clue what i was going to put on it. Taking it home i though and thought for what seemed like forever, but then it came to me.. Vintage.. I wanted my tray to look old, worn out, used.
I started looking online for old pictures of anything, flowers, coins, buttons, candles, keys, the bible, matches. You name it, anything. Once i had the objects i thought would create the look i wanted, i started cutting them out and using mod podge to glue it onto the tray.
Finding the bible verse was the hardest, i prayed about it and spent may hours pondering and searching for the perfect verse. Then i finaly i found it, Epsesians 2:10. I don't know why this bible vesre spoke to me so much but i could feel it was the one. In the end i fell in love with this peice, it definitely was worth the hard work.

Happy Belated Mothers Day

My mother is a very special person in my life who knows how to cheer me up,
through ups and downs spats and frowns
i know she will never give up.
Even when in angry and mad she keeps loving me anyways,
her warm smiles and laughs
blow away the scratch
that may have tweaked me that day.

My mother has tought me the most important thing,
and that is to go along with life
not carring what people think.
My love for my mother goes strong and deep,
it makes me want to take a leap,
to smile and jump and let the world know that i love my mother so.

So even though its not mothers day,
and yes this message is alittle late
but since i love my mother alot,
i figured it doesn't matter what day,
as long as i say it anyway.

I Love You Mom!

My Hero

Amanda Falk

My hero is driven by Gods love and grace, she is a preacher of God’s word though her singing.  She is an amazing singer and sings her message to the public that “you’re beautiful the way you are” My hero is Amanda Falk.

Amanda Falk was born in Manitoba and her childhood was spent growing up on a family farm.  She first started making music in her home town church, where she began to express her love for God through her music. In 2006 she way awarded a Juno for a self-recorded artist.  From there she went on to help young women find their true identity though her ministry “beautiful Unique Girl”.  Just like that Amanda went from a little farm girl to a sensation across Canada for young women.

Ever since 2009 when I went to a youth retreat called YC, when I heard Amanda’s songs and messages.  I was inspired to be free and open with the word of God. Even though Amanda is famous, she is not afraid like many famous people are to talk about their faith.  Amanda inspires me because she came from an average home but ended up becoming a great role model for young women.  She helps people find what their place is in the world. Putting other people first is a great quality that every hero should have.  Amanda makes me want to tell people more about God by inviting them to come to youth night with me.

Why Amanda inspires me is really simple, she is high on God and isn’t afraid to show it. Amanda has proven that all you need is a little faith and you can do the greatest things in life. She makes me want to jump out of my safety zone and tell everyone about God, because that’s what she would do.

Matthew 7:7

Ask and it will be given to you,
seek and you will find,
knock and the door will be opened to you.
