The Glass Doll

She sits there
unable to move.
Caught in limbo.

Her breath catches
as she remembers.

She remembers the late prayers,
as she pleaded to God.

Her voice goes hoarse,
begging God.
Begging him to bring her someone
who will understand.

She is lost.

Yet she won't let them see.
She will put on a strong armour.
So they won't see the pain.

But he knows.
God knows.

Laugh, Love, Live

Everyone see's the world differently,
some through colours, shapes, lines, and words.
To others it's like a blank canvas.
         But inside everyones soul,
is the ability to see past that blank canvas,
               and give it meaning.
                  To laugh.
                     To love.
                        To live.

My goal for this upcoming year is to worry less and create more. This next summer my family is having a garage sale in the city near by and i want to showcase my art there and sell it. To do this however i need to keep my eye on the prize and not stray from this creative course. This is the first of many paintings i'm going to try and create for this upcoming summer. Hope all goes as planed.

A Piece of Pie

A pastel overlay is very simple, professional looking piece of art to create. All you need is a little imagination, chalk or oil pastels, and a black and white photo copy of one of your favourite photo's.
In my picture I used chalk pastels because I find them Easier to blend and get the shades you want.

In my first picture you see that only some of the
colour is there, the coloured part is the pastel overlay.

The last picture is my finished product.

Sea Creature

I float around aimlessly,
like balloons full of helium.
i zig and i zag
bobbing,
unnoticed by predators watchful eyes.

Dancing near the ocean floor
i spread my tentacles,
they illuminate me.

Am i gushy or hard,
slimy or smooth?
Am i iridescent or dull,
large or small?

Some may look at me and flee,
other will be mesmerized by me.
I am a whimsical creature
roaming the ocean,
making it a brighter place to live.

I am
a jelly fish!

In Memory of Claes Oldenburg

Tall. Dark.
Red brick buildings,
towering over the others.
Wide spacious rooms
dominate the higher floors.
Within the building
on the main floor,
hidden near the corner of the building.
Three small rooms are a reminder
of what once was an artist’s playground.
They wait there.
Alone
in the dark.
The only light appears through the barred windows.
All is quiet.
Vehicles pass and go,
people continue on with their lives.
All oblivious to the sound of the three small rooms
creaking and moaning.
They mourn the loss of their dear friend.
What will become of this place?
Will there ever be any life in it again?
Will anyone remember the joy and delight,
that used to fill the halls?
I am filled with grief and sorrow.
Nothing can turn my gloom into bliss.
It is torture to see these rooms unoccupied.
All is bitter.
Tall, dark and unseen.
Tall, dark and unseen.
Tall, dark and unseen.

For the end of the yaer project in my english class, we got to choose anything/anyone to do a research project on. we had to create seven different peices of writing, and all together there had to be 1500 words. I choose Claes Oldenburg, thouse of you who dont know who that is, he was an artist who created larger than life art works. my teacher gave us an assignment that we had to do ontop of the project, it was a six rooms poem. A six rooms poem is reasly just an outline for writing a poem. In each of the sections of the peom it tells you to write about what the room looks like on the outside, or what sounds you hear, whats the lighting like in the room, whats the mood, etc. Then you just put the stuff you wrote into a poem format.

Ephesians 2:10

For we are God's Workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus to do good works,
which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Ephesians 2:10

This was one of my favorite art works to create, and in fact it was my moms idea of what to do with it. Me and my mom where working at our local thrift store when she walked up to me with a huge grin on her face. It looked like she would have found gold, except when she pulled this plain looking tray out from behind her back i looked sceptical. At first i thought using it for art was a crazy idea, i had no clue what i was going to put on it. Taking it home i though and thought for what seemed like forever, but then it came to me.. Vintage.. I wanted my tray to look old, worn out, used.
I started looking online for old pictures of anything, flowers, coins, buttons, candles, keys, the bible, matches. You name it, anything. Once i had the objects i thought would create the look i wanted, i started cutting them out and using mod podge to glue it onto the tray.
Finding the bible verse was the hardest, i prayed about it and spent may hours pondering and searching for the perfect verse. Then i finaly i found it, Epsesians 2:10. I don't know why this bible vesre spoke to me so much but i could feel it was the one. In the end i fell in love with this peice, it definitely was worth the hard work.
